Job Title: MBS Portfolio Manager

Salary: The starting salary is £63,409, which includes allowances totalling £3,009 allowance.

The salary is broken down as £60,400 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £65,886. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

  • Build a modern, efficient Business Services Directorate by consolidating specialist capabilities and strengthening core functions such as HR, Finance, Commercial, and Supply Chain.

The Head of Solutions at MBS oversees a broad portfolio spanning Technology and Architecture, Products (including HR, Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, User Experience, and other core business applications), Data and Reporting, and Service and Operations. We are now seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to join the MBS Solutions team and support both ongoing BAU activities and strategic transformation initiatives. The role holder will be responsible for owning and governing portfolio management activities across the Solutions team. This will involve close collaboration with the Head of Solutions and coordination across reporting lines, including Architecture, Products, Service & Operations, and Data & Reporting, as well as engagement with other project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

A key driver of the MBS-led transformation is the establishment of a new “Solutions” capability within Met Business Services. 

The Head of Solutions at MBS oversees a broad portfolio spanning Technology and Architecture, Products (including HR, Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, User Experience, and other core business applications), Data and Reporting, and Service and Operations. 

We are now seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to join the MBS Solutions team and support both ongoing BAU activities and strategic transformation initiatives. 

The role holder will be responsible for owning and governing portfolio management activities across the Solutions team. This will involve close collaboration with the Head of Solutions and coordination across reporting lines, including Architecture, Products, Service & Operations, and Data & Reporting, as well as engagement with other project teams. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage portfolio governance processes across multiple workstreams and programmes. 
  • Develop and maintain integrated portfolio plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. 
  • Oversee RAID management, financial tracking, and reporting for portfolio health and performance. 
  • Produce executive-level dashboards and reporting packs for senior leadership and governance boards. 
  • Ensure compliance with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and audit readiness. 
  • Support resource forecasting, prioritisation, and capacity planning across projects. 
  • Drive continuous improvement in PMO processes, tools, and reporting frameworks. 
  • Collaborate with Programme Managers, Project Managers, and business stakeholders to ensure delivery predictability and risk mitigation. 
  • Drive continuous improvement that supports New Met for London priorities.

Additional Information:

This role will be based at Kilburn with possible travel to Holborn and Westminster
