12 Month Secondment/Fixed Term Contract
Thames Valley Police are recruiting for an exciting full time opportunity in the Finance Operations department supporting a critical business area. This is a Secondment/Fixed Term Contract (12 months), that reports into the Senior Management Accountant. You will be responsible for delivering month end (running reports, posting journals, dealing with queries and reconciling balance sheets) and providing reliable, timely reporting to the business partners. You will look after one Accounts Technician who will support your role on a transactional basis.
The post holder will be AAT qualified accountant or equivalent with experience of working in a management accounting or similar role in a large Finance function, preferably with line management experience and ability to coach and mentor junior staff. Exceptional communication skills are essentials as well as proven experience of building strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
If you are a permanent member of staff applying for this role, please note it will be offered on a secondment basis. Important: All secondments must be supported in writing by your Line Manager and Head of Department/Commander or Deputy. Please attach written approval from your line manager and Head of Department in your application. If the secondment is not supported then the role may be offered on a fixed term contract basis, but this has implications including loss of continuous service protections.
Please note: Shift allowance, on-call or other job related allowances from the previous role will not be protected unless they are attached to the new role for the duration of the secondment.
