About the role
As Lead End User Computing Engineer, you will lead the technologies that enable officers and staff to work securely, efficiently and effectively wherever policing happens. From desktops, laptops, mobile devices and body-worn video technology to modern workplace and AI-enabled services, you will shape the future of end user computing across Wiltshire Police. Working across multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and stakeholders, you will drive innovation, automation, resilience and continual improvement, ensuring colleagues have access to secure, reliable and high-performing technology that supports operational policing and delivers an outstanding user experience.
What you will be doing
- Lead the performance, security, resilience and user experience of End User Computing services across Wiltshire Police.
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of workplace technology, including desktops, laptops, mobiles, tablets, body worn videos, peripherals and associated digital services.
- Define and assure technical, security and configuration standards, ensuring solutions are secure by design and fit for operational policing.
- Lead device deployment, refresh and modern endpoint management programmes, delivering reliable and cost-effective technology services.
- Act as the senior escalation point for high-impact incidents, driving rapid resolution and reducing operational risk.
- Manage technology suppliers and contracts, ensuring strong performance, value for money and compliance with security standards.
- Use service data and operational insight to improve device health, service performance, user satisfaction and technology outcomes.
- Drive continual improvement through standardisation, automation, modern device management and enhanced user productivity.
About you and your experience
- Experience leading End User Computing services; desktop, mobile or workplace technology services within a complex Digital, Data and Technology environment.
- Strong knowledge of endpoint management, device lifecycle management, workplace technology and operational support.
- Experience delivering secure, resilient and user-centred technology services using modern management and automation practices.
- The ability to lead technical teams, manage suppliers and drive positive outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of cyber security, compliance and operational resilience principles.
- Experience using service performance data and user insight to drive continual improvement and service excellence.
- A passion for innovation, user experience and enabling colleagues through technology.

- ITIL 4 Foundation
- ITIL 4 Specialist: Create, Deliver & Support (CDS)
- ISO/IEC 27001 Foundation / or Cyber Essentials
- Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager / Intune Administrator (MD-102)
