Are you passionate about animal care and looking for a rewarding role supporting frontline policing? Nottinghamshire Police is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Kennel Person to join our professional team responsible for the care and welfare of our working police dogs.
This is a physically demanding role that requires resilience, initiative, and the ability to work independently. You’ll play a vital part in maintaining the health, hygiene, and wellbeing of our canine colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily care and husbandry of police dogs, including feeding, cleaning, and exercising
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in kennel areas
- Monitoring dog health and reporting concerns to handlers or veterinary staff
- Supporting operational readiness of the Dog Section

The selection process will include:

Application process will end on 14th June 2026.
Applications will be marked week commencing 15th June 2026 at which point successful candidates will be notified about the next stage. The interview and practical exercise will take place at Nottinghamshire Police Headquarters on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th July – applicants must be available for one of these dates.

Vetting Level – Recruitment – you must have resided in the UK for at least the last 3 years, with less than 12 months spent abroad (some exceptions for those living on a UK military base).
