Justice Development Manager - Part time


Salary: £50,281.08 per annum (pro rota) with yearly increments based on performance plus £4,613.61 London allowance (pro rata) if applicable.

The Opportunity:

British Transport Police have an opportunity for a Justice Development Manager to join the BTP Justice Department. As a Justice Development Manager with BTP, you will lead on Criminal Justice (CJ) change initiatives.

 

Working with external stakeholders and partners, as well as internally across all divisions and departments to define project objectives, oversee the entire lifecycle from project definition to delivery, and be responsible for service outcomes and benefits realisation.

 

Preparing business cases for onward submission in force including the Force Executive Board, Chief Officer Group and Service Improvement Boards, implementing agreed recommendations arising from endorsed proposals.

 

Manage the key messages communicated across the business to address different audience needs and meet organisational requirements in the overall management of business changes across BTP.

 

Manage, lead and motivate the staff of the Justice Solutions team, delegating as appropriate to ensure that the day to day workload priorities are achieved and that work procedures are followed and applied to the agreed standards.

 

What you'll be doing: 

 

  • Drive and deliver complex CJ projects supporting the BTP Strategic Plan. This includes developing and delivering multi-faceted projects/initiatives to meet pre-defined targets.
  •  

  • Accountable for development, implementation and maintenance of sound business practices while working towards the organisational redesign of the Justice and Public Contact Command which focuses on “new ways of working” underpinned by developing a culture of continuous process improvement, enhanced customer centric service delivery and a focus on ‘new technologies’ with a view to process automation.
  •  

  • Accountable for continually improving BTP's project management methodology and promote its use at all levels across the Justice and Public Contact Command. Report monthly on Programme budgets showing spend to date and projected forecast of expenditure. Reports on project milestones and resolves escalated aspects if slippage on project occurs.
  •  

    What you'll bring to the team:  

     

  • Experience of working on all stages of the project development life-cycle, with the ability to progress and oversee complex plans including the delivery of complex projects.
  •  

  • Experience of leading and implementing projects and developing structures and systems that lead to increased organisational effectiveness or that significantly contributes to the strategic objectives
  •  

  • Outstanding communications skills for internal and external audiences
  •  

  • Ability to use analytical techniques in the decision-making process to make bold but robust decisions concerning project outcomes
  •  

     

    Essential Criteria:


    A formal project/ programme management qualification, such as PRINCE2, APMP, Lean Six Sigma or Managing Successful Programmes
