The Serious Crime Division is seeking applications for the role of Investigative Support Officer in the Major Incident Support Unit (MISU). Located at Nexus House, Ashton Under Lyne, MISU investigate the most serious of crime such as murder, manslaughter and gross negligence manslaughter. Investigating serious crime is a team effort and the successful candidate will be expected to undertake a variety of roles such as Officer in the Case, exhibit management, outside enquiry officer and periodically be called upon to perform the role of disclosure officer. Whilst some training will be provided the successful candidate will be expected to have an understanding of case file preparation, HOLMES, PACE, CPIA, experience of working with partners such as the Crown Prosecution Service and may be called upon to give evidence in the Crown Court. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Investigating Officer ensuring that all lines of enquiry are prioritised and dealt with in a timely manner and provide support in the effective running of the trial.
