As part of the team working in the Specialist Crime Division, you can make a real difference by supporting the provision of Public Protection to our officers and staff.
The successful applicant for this role will be part of an Operation, the review into Group Based Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) across Scotland. The data and content being dealt will be sensitive and could potentially be distressing and disturbing.
Key Responsibilities -
To receive, assess, sanitise, develop and disseminate intelligence derived from a wide range of sources including Open Source and Social Media – in line with the Regulation of Investigatory Powers / Regulation of Investigatory Powers (Scotland) Act guidelines (RIPA / RIPSA), as well as intelligence and information from UK Intelligence and Security Agencies, and information as processed by OCCTU CT Intel National Operational Support, relating to the investigation of terrorism, extremism, subversion, counter espionage and counter proliferation and threats to national security and any other identified threats to National Security and .prepare intelligence reports and briefing documents in relation to results of this activity.
To work within CT Operational Support and provide intelligence support to live time critical CT deployments as part of the CT Police Operations Room Cadre in the role of Intelligence Development Officer.
This role will be Monday-Friday 0900-1700, there is Flexibility around location, however must be commutable to either Gartcosh or Livingston for training and management
This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.
