An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Review, Retention and Disposal team within Information Compliance.
This is a specialist role at the heart of responsible information management, helping to ensure police information is accurate, relevant and retained only where there is a clear policing purpose. The team plays an essential part in supporting operational decision-making, protecting the public, maintaining data quality and helping the Force meet its legal and professional obligations.
We are looking for someone who is confident working with data, has excellent attention to detail, and can apply guidance and legislation carefully and consistently. You will research local and national Force systems, assess information, identify data quality issues and support decisions that help ensure policing records remain accurate, proportionate and fit for purpose.
Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to review sensitive and potentially distressing information, so resilience, professionalism and sound judgement are important.
Candidates should be qualified to level 3 and be able to demonstrate:
· A high level of accuracy, methodical working and attention to detail.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· An awareness of Data Quality issues and the consequent impact.
· The ability to use different IT applications to research, analyse and evaluate information.
· Experience of working in an information management environment, or a clear understanding of the importance of accurate and well-managed information.
Due to the sensitive nature of the information held by the Force, security is vital. Candidates will be vetted at management level, and this must be successfully completed before employment can commence.
