An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Information Disclosure Team. We are looking for an Information Disclosure Officer to join the team.
This role plays a key part in processing requests in all matters covering Subject Access, Freedom of Information and the Protection of Vulnerable Groups, making sure requests are handled lawfully, on time, and in a clear and helpful way.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- You will conduct research on police systems to allow you to process requests to comply with the Forces obligations under the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act and Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. You will also help improve how the service works day to day.
- Logging, processing and responding to FOI, Subject Access and PVG requests.
- Searching police systems for relevant information to these requests.
- Helping to improve processes, templates, and guidance.
- Supporting training and development within the team.
- Prepare and publish information on the Freedom of Information publication scheme.
Essential Criteria
- Experience of working with Freedom of Information, Subject Access legislation or PVG legislation is essential.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage workloads, deadlines, and competing priorities.
- Confidence in making decisions and explaining them clearly.
- A calm and professional approach, especially with sensitive information.

Please note the location of the role is flexible and working from home is supported however the successful candidate is expected to travel to one of Scotland's base locations/offices when required by your line manager.
