We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at Cumbria Constabulary as an ICT Trainer.

.

Cumbria Constabulary is at the forefront of delivering technology-enabled change, and this role plays a key part in ensuring our workforce is supported to use new and existing systems effectively.

We are seeking a confident, organised and engaging individual to deliver ICT training across a range of systems. This will include supporting both project delivery and business-as-usual activity, helping to ensure that staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills to adopt new technologies and ways of working.

.

Working within our Digital, Data and Technology environment, you will support a range of programmes and projects by designing and delivering training, as well as providing ongoing support to system users across the organisation.

.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, alongside a proactive and adaptable approach, are essential for success in this role.

Working Arrangements

.

  • We are recruiting to one permanent position and one temporary position (until December 2027).
  • The role is full-time (37 hours per week).
  • The role is based at Cumbria Constabulary HQ in Penrith; however, there will be a requirement to travel across the force area to deliver training and provide support.
  • Opportunities for hybrid and remote working are available where appropriate; however, the nature of the role will require a regular on-site presence to support training delivery.
  • The role operates in line with the Constabulary’s Flexible Working and Flexitime policies, offering flexibility around working patterns and hours, subject to line manager discretion and service needs.

Development Opportunity

.

Whilst we are ideally seeking a candidate who meets all of the essential criteria, we will also consider applications from individuals who meet most of the requirements and can develop into the role.

.

This development opportunity would involve a structured plan to build the necessary skills and experience to perform the full role, typically over a period of 6–12 months.

.

Candidates appointed via the development route will be appointed at a scale below (Scale 6 – £33,603 to £35,772) whilst gaining the required skills and experience. Upon successful completion of the development plan, there will be the opportunity to progress to the full grade of the role.
