About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, people-focused Trainer to join our dynamic People Development team on a 12-month basis. If you love helping others grow, enjoy solving problems, and want to make a real impact across Lincolnshire Police, this is a brilliant opportunity to do just that.
Subject to approval from your Head of Department, this role is available as a secondment – perfect if you’re looking to broaden your skills, try something new, or take the next step in your career.
You’ll be at the heart of shaping how colleagues learn and develop, especially around the policing systems that keep the force running – Niche, Pronto, Compact and more.
What You’ll Be Doing
· Delivering engaging, confidence-boosting training sessions (with a major focus on ICT systems).
· Designing and refreshing training materials so they’re accurate, relevant and easy to follow.
· Working with subject matter experts from across the force (and beyond!) to keep content sharp and up to date.
· Coaching and supporting colleagues to develop their system skills, professionalism and confidence.
· Helping learners understand key responsibilities around data protection, system security and wellbeing.
· Assessing learners’ progress and ensuring they leave equipped to perform their roles safely and effectively.
· Carrying out Training Needs Analysis to make sure our people get the learning they genuinely need.
· Managing learners with confidence and sensitivity, supporting them through any challenges.
· Travelling to different locations to train, collaborate, and share best practice with other forces and partners.
Why This Role Matters
Great policing relies on great people—and great people rely on great training.
Thanks to positive funding outcomes, Lincolnshire Police is continuing to grow. We’re welcoming more student officers, transferees, and new staff members into the organisation than ever before. This role has a direct impact on helping those new starters get up and running quickly, confidently and safely.
You’ll be the person who helps someone understand the systems they will use every day, who guides them through their first steps in the organisation, and who builds their confidence from day one. What you teach today could shape how they perform on the front line tomorrow.
Your work doesn’t just support individuals. It improves the whole organisation, boosts service delivery, and strengthens the impact we have on our communities. It’s meaningful. It’s varied. And it really matters.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who knows how policing works – someone who understands the systems, rhythm, language and culture of the organisation.
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
· enjoy helping others succeed,
· communicate clearly and confidently,
· build rapport easily,
· stay calm and supportive when others need guidance,
· and genuinely care about delivering an excellent learning experience.
If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Interviews dates to be confirmed - shortlisted candidates will be required to deliver a 10-minute presentation with the topic issued to you when invited to interview. The panel are not expecting to see a fully developed lesson - this is an opportunity to assess your ability to research a topic and demonstrate clear, appropriate communication in a classroom setting, alongside fundamental presentation skills.
