Job Title: HR and Resourcing Officer
Salary: The starting salary is £40,519, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.
The salary is broken down as £37,510 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £40,141. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: Remote working nationally within UK. NPCC is currently based in close proximity to St James Park underground station, London and therefore occasional travel will be required to this premise and other Police locations across the UK. Contract – Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/2027 (with the potential for further extension subject to funding and performance).

NPCC HR TEAM
The NPCC HR function provides strategic leadership and end‑to‑end HR and resourcing services that enable the organisation to meet its workforce, governance and policing priorities. It delivers expert support across recruitment, workforce planning, onboarding, employee relations, policy development, HR operations and contractual management for a diverse workforce operating across multiple forces and contract types. Through continuous improvement, data‑driven insight and collaborative working with the MPS, SSCL and wider policing partners, NPCC HR sustains.
THE ROLE
The post holder will work collaboratively with NPCC Senior Leadership Team (SLT), hiring managers and internal/external stakeholders to support the delivery of the workforce planning via Local Resource Planning Meetings and recruitment processes to ensure decisions are within budget and in line with corporate priorities. They will support all staff with standard and complex recruitment administration in fast paced environment, managing the issue of legal contracts and pay agreements. They will impact and influence collectively the NPCC’s performance against objectives, target resource numbers and budgets allocated (police officer and police staff).
The successful candidate would need to have the following experiences and skills:
- HR experience in the following areas: attraction, recruitment, workforce deployment and planning, workforce data, leavers
- Experience of managing competing issues and priorities, including those escalated.
- Delivering results in a responsible, resilient, and inclusive way, owning decisions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in order to respond appropriately to queries or requests for information.
- Be proactive in their approach to problem solving and take the initiative to resolve issues

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Occasional national travel may be required. Travel expenses will be paid if location allowance is not being received, or when travel falls outside of the home to work journey. NPCC will pay for overnight accommodation if required.
