HR Advisor - Leadership and Development
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team and play a key role in supporting leadership and talent development across Cheshire Constabulary. Working closely with senior leaders, the successful candidate will identify individual and team development needs and design engaging learning activities that strengthen leadership capability, support employee development and contribute to the delivery of corporate objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Design, deliver and evaluate leadership development programmes, workshops and masterclasses for managers at all levels, building their confidence and capability to manage performance and support the development of their people.
- Design and deliver skills-based training in areas such as problem solving, resilience, communication, confidence and personal effectiveness, tailored to the needs of individuals, teams and the wider organisation.
- Create learning solutions for all organisational levels, using a range of methods such as face-to-face workshops, blended programmes, coaching, toolkits and digital content.
- Support the coordination and delivery of the First Line Leader (FLL) and Mid-Level Leader (MLL) programmes, ensuring content is aligned to College of Policing learning objectives.
- Act as a coach or mentor across the Service, supporting individuals with specific development needs.
- Help build a learning and coaching culture by promoting continuous professional development, encouraging reflective practice and supporting managers to embed learning in everyday performance and talent conversations.
- Promote supportive leadership practices that strengthen inclusion, enhance wellbeing and help individuals and teams feel valued, supported and able to perform at their best.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of delivering learning and development initiatives in a large organisation.
- The ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and reprioritise work when needed.
- Knowledge of learning and development, including good practice and current developments in training approaches and processes.
- Understanding of the training cycle, including learning needs analysis, design, delivery and evaluation, with the ability to apply models such as Kirkpatrick to assess impact and inform continuous improvement.
- Experience of coaching individuals to support personal development, build confidence and enable performance improvement.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
