Humberside Police are pleased to announce that the North Bank DFN Supported Internship application process remains open.
What is DFN ?
DFN Project SEARCH is aimed at young adults with a learning disability, ADHD and/or autism. During the programme, selected interns spend 9 months within a host business providing them valuable employability skills and experience to help them apply for and gain full time employment.
Humberside Police first collaborated with DFN Project SEARCH in 2022 to set up a programme on the North Bank, based primarily at Priory Road Headquarters, Hull. The North Bank DFN programme, led by a designated Course Manager / Tutor (Bishop Burton College), is in its 3rd year and has supported over 20 young adults in gaining these valuable skills and experience. An on-site Job Coach provides interns with specialist job coaching whilst in their departments to help them learn new transferable skills and work-based tasks, alongside the Course Manager / Tutor delivering classroom-based curriculum.
The DFN programme involves interns working across 3 different departments, known as ‘rotations’. The North Bank programme is based within Priory Road Headquarters and neighbouring police stations and has included rotations within People Services, Legal Department, Criminal Justice Unit and Catering.
