Hours:  37 Hours Per Week (Full-Time) Monday to Friday

Contract:  Permanent


Overall Purpose of The Role: The role of Disclosure Administration Assistant is to provide administrative support to legal assistants and legal officers relating to the disclosure of material in Family Law Proceedings and General Disclosure matters.


Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the administrative functions relating to the disclosure of police held material for use in Family Law proceedings, other civil proceedings such as fitness to practise proceedings and other general disclosure requests.
  • To provide customer focused and professional acknowledgements to requests and Court Orders for disclosure received in Legal Services.
  • Liaise with legal assistants and legal officers in relation to requests.
  • Provide updates from enquiries received by interrogation of the case management system.
  • Calculate the corresponding fees in respect of material available in accordance with the NPCC suggested tariffs on fees, requesting invoices from finance departments and sending those to requesting parties where applicable.
  • You will ensure monies are recovered for all disclosure requests, where applicable, in accordance with Force and Department policy and report to the Disclosure Manager/ Senior Leadership Team.
  • To provide routine administrative support in the form of filing, photocopying, scanning, document collation and distribution and routine statistical work.
  • To undertake routine document processing functions such as data entry, record checking/updating, invoice/order processing.
  • You will create and maintain spreadsheets and other electronic records and accurately record information relating to the administrative functions of the disclosure team.

What the role requires:

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • Clerical experience incorporating the use of computers spreadsheets/databases, word processing/typing.
  • General administration experience including filing, record keeping and taking phone calls.
  • Experience in the drafting of letters for signature.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Page Maker etc.
  • Portrays a positive and responsible attitude.
  • Possesses the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and works well with minimum supervision.
  • Possesses an understanding of when to refer matters to more senior staff.
