Location: Melton 2, Wyke Way

Hours: 37 Hours Per Week (Full-time) Monday to Friday

Flexibility Requirement: Candidates must be open to flexible daily working hours to meet the operational needs of the department. This may include adjusting start and finish times, providing cover during peak periods, or supporting colleagues during absences. Flexibility is essential to ensure consistent service delivery and effective team collaboration.

Contract: Permanent, x2 vacancies available

Overall Purpose of the role:  To provide the Force resource for the recovery, analysis and production of digital related evidence.

The post holder will come into contact with images of a graphic and disturbing nature.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Recovers, analyses and produces evidence from computers, mobile phones and related devices in accordance with national guidelines.
  • Updates and maintains knowledge through training, current case law, procedural rulings and other sources of digital forensics related material.
  • Liaises with other agencies as appropriate, mobile and computer hardware and software suppliers, Government agencies (local and national), other police forces and law enforcement bodies, professional bodies, commercial concerns, Internet and other communication systems providers and academic institutions to exchange relevant information and best practice.
  • Attends court in order to present evidence regarding analysis of digital devices when required.

 

 

Computer Analysts

 

  1. Attends computer related training courses to an advanced level as specified in their training plan in order to achieve competency in their role.
  2. Supports the use of computer triage equipment across the force area by giving local training when required.

 

Telephone Analysts

 

  1. Attends mobile phone related training courses to an advanced level as specified in their training plan in order to achieve competency in their role.

What the role requires:

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Is expected to attend and pass CSDRA & CSMPF courses at the College of Policing.
  • Will have previously worked in an IT related field or have a demonstrable knowledge in the related fields of programming, networks, server/storage, systems admin or similar.
  • Is sensitive to the wishes and views of others and is able to display tact and diplomacy. Has the ability to inspire confidence and respect.
  • Has access to a vehicle and able to travel the force area
  • Able to prepare well balanced reports in a concise, logical and timely manner.
  • Experience of working in a confidential environment.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision when required.
  • Carries out tasks in an accurate and methodical manner with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
