Hours: 37 Hours Per Week (Full-time) Monday to Friday
Flexibility Requirement: Candidates must be open to flexible daily working hours to meet the operational needs of the department. This may include adjusting start and finish times, providing cover during peak periods, or supporting colleagues during absences. Flexibility is essential to ensure consistent service delivery and effective team collaboration.
Contract: Temporary 12-month contract.
Overall, Purpose of the role: To provide a comprehensive clerical and administrative support service to the Community Safety Unit, specifically, to OP Prowess (Knife Crime Concentration Fund)
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertakes clerical duties, sometimes of a non-routine nature, such as photocopying, scanning, mail sorting and delivery, documentation collating and distribution, typing and word processing, filing and management of diaries, particularly in respect of the OP Prowess, Knife Crime Concentration Fund).
- Responds to telephone queries, providing advice to members of the public, Police Officers and Partners, escalating more complex matters to the Sergeant.
- Manages the Community Safety Unit email SPOC boxes, directing emails to the relevant personnel within the unit.
- Collects, collates and prepares statistical data in accordance with legal requirements.
- Attends meetings as required, which involves taking and preparing minutes, including notification and following up of action required.
- Assist the Single point of contact with the implementation of projects within the Community Safety Unit, liaising with Partners and the Corporate Communications Unit where necessary.
OP PROWESS – KNIFE CRIME CONTRATION FUND
- Ensures all tactical delivery as part of OP PROWESS is recorded, tracked, collated and processed.
- Interrogates police systems to explore deliverables, eg, hours patrolled, stop searches, interactions, and use data to develop presentations reporting on outputs of the KCCF initiative, and produces wider reports as and when requested.
- Works with our force Resource Management Unit (Logistics) to ensure overtime shifts are advertised and filled as appropriate.
- Support in the collation and tracking of activities as part of wider Problem-Solving Activities (POP) as part of the KCCF.

- Carries out tasks in an accurate and methodical manner with an eye for detail.
- Experience of using computers to input, amend and extract information.
- Ability to search and interrogate computer systems/database
- Previous administrative experience incorporating a wide range of duties such as dealing with non-routine tasks/telephone queries.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Have access to a vehicle and able to travel the force area.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
