Occupational Health & Support Services provide a service that aims to protect and improve the health of police officers and police staff, it specialises in a two-way relationship between all staff and the organisation. The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioners are professionally independent and provide an impartial, professional and confidential service to all members of Thames Valley Police. We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary team.
You will undertake health assessment of police officer and staff applicants as well of periodic health screening of police officers in a range of specialist roles. You will also administer hepatitis B vaccines to police officers and staff and collect blood samples as required.
You will also undertake health surveillance of officers and staff exposed to hazards at work that could lead to work related ill health which will include undertaking audiometry and lung function screening.
Reporting to the Senior Occupational Health Adviser you will work under the guidance of Specialist Occupational Health Nurses. You will be provided with the training needed to undertake the role. This is an ideal role for someone who is interested in entering the field of occupational health.
The successful candidate will be a Registered General Nursing (RGN) with substantial general nursing experience and able to communicate both verbally and in writing with officers and staff at all levels of the organisation.
