About the team
The Fraud Operations Teams investigate many of the UK’s most complex, significant and high-profile cases of fraud, working in partnership with local, national and international forces, counter fraud agencies and public and private sector bodies. The focus is on disrupting organised crime gangs that are targeting people across the UK, returning the proceeds of crime to victims and raising public awareness of major crime threats.
The successful candidate will lead a team of Police Staff Investigators with a City and National Lead Force role within Fraud Operations as well as the NLF Victim Care Unit.
About the role
The Fraud Team Manager will supervise complex fraud investigations and operational activity and will take a tactical lead on cases, providing support, oversight and direction to staff in order to tackle fraud across the country. They will provide strategic oversight to the operations and continuous service improvement of the Victim Care Unit.
They will have responsibility for both teams including welfare and development. They will actively work to develop skills, improve processes and deliver a high-quality service to victims and the community.
The successful candidate will work within the established Fraud Operations department alongside experienced police staff and police investigators and managers. They will receive training and support to become a specialist fraud investigator and manager.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Oversee the Fraud Impact Team and Victim Care Unit, providing direction, supervision, and support across complex fraud cases.
- Act as the lead on major fraud investigations, guiding investigative strategy and ensuring effective outcomes
- Ensure continuous improvement and high standards within the Victim Care Unit and wider fraud operations
- Work with internal teams and external agencies to tackle organised crime and deliver coordinated outcomes.
- Manage welfare, build capability, and develop team members to improve performance and resilience.
Requirements

- Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to motivate teams, improve performance, and confidently challenge poor standards.
- Proven ability to manage complex investigation workloads.
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail with the ability to assess large volumes of information, identify key evidence, and maintain high-quality outputs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills and able to clearly direct teams, influence senior stakeholders, and build effective working relationships.
- Problem-solving capability and strategic thinking with proven experience in breaking down complex issues, identifying solutions and driving continuous improvement.
This vacancy is open only to those who have the right to work in the UK. Also, due to this role requiring MV/SC level vetting, you need to have continuously resided in the UK for the last 5 years. This residency needs to be in the immediate 5 years prior to this application. Selection Process
As part of the initial application process, you will be asked to evidence how your experience, skills, and knowledge demonstrate your ability to meet the person specification of the role.
The application and interview will be tested under Level 2 of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework.
