Financial Intelligence Officer - HIOWC422

We are recruiting for two Financial Intelligence Officers (FIO) to join an established team, providing an intelligence research function in support of the Force Financial Development Unit. FIOs are responsible for receiving, processing, evaluating, disseminating, and accounting for intelligence. This is an exciting opportunity to support financial policing, developing valuable skills and knowledge.

Location: Southern Support Training HQ, Hamble

About the Role

As an FIO, you will assess and research suspicious activity reports to identify criminality and vulnerability and instigate the appropriate disruption activity. You will also be responsible for identifying fraud and money laundering offences from the reported intelligence, developing financial profiles, producing intelligence packages for Investigators, and liaising with subjects believed to be acting as money launderers. The level of fraudulent activity may range from volume fraud through to organised crime groups (OCG's). You will need to create and maintain spreadsheets to record your decision making and for data collection purposes.

FIOs support the Financial Intelligence Manager with research regarding all ‘defence against money laundering’ and ‘defence against terrorist financing’ requests.

You will be responsible for interrogating the Financial Intelligence Gateway (FIG) and other sources of information to develop financial intelligence, and you will be required to research and utilise all available intelligence from Police systems and external agencies that will inform Intelligence and Analytical products in line with the National Intelligence Model. The intelligence developed will support investigations, safeguarding activity, and the disruption of criminality.

This role also involves researching and reviewing past confiscation orders to identify assets now held, adding warning markers on RMS, and submitting PNC circulations regarding new confiscation orders.

FIOs act as deputy Force Financial Intelligence Manager when required and perform the functions of that role.
