Police officer secondment to the National Rural Crime Unit to work with all 43 forces, Home Office and national partners.
A unique opportunity exists for a police officer to apply for a 2-year secondment (that may be extended) to work with the small national team across England and Wales. The role will involve the co-ordination of delivery of the NPCC strategy, sharing of best practice alongside regional and national operational responses to the like of Agri GPS thefts, working with senior officers to extended intelligence sharing operations such as Hawkeye and Ragwort across the UK. It also includes the tactical direction and line management of the National Livestock theft co-ordinator.
This role includes chairing regional and national meetings, representing the Unit at Home Office and NPCC meetings, including but not limited to multiple force and partner liaison conferences, chairing of relevant stakeholder meetings and working with academia. Assisting forces in how to run and manage their regional intelligence sharing via Teams Channels is a fundamental requirement. Acting as the key link alongside the Head of Unit and key stakeholders.
The role works closely with Police force rural crime leads, Welsh Government Rural Crime Co-Ordinator and all national rural partners but specifically the NFU and NFU Mutual ensuring that best practice is embedded into the existing processes and is given a high level of focus and buy in from key stakeholders. Working closely with (where they exist) the specialist Rural Policing Teams and rural networks, gathering data, building relationships, encouraging collaboration and a regional strategic change to address consistent partnership working, training and promulgation of best practice and innovation.
