Hours: Monday–Thursday 08:00–16:00, Friday 08:00–15:30

About the Role

We are recruiting an organised and detail-focused Administration Assistant to join the Evidence Management Unit on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This role involves working within a forensic lab environment, alongside CCTV imaging specialists, supporting the handling and management of evidential material used in criminal investigations and prosecutions.

You will provide administrative and logistical support while working with police officers and criminal justice partners including the CPS and HMCTS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records across force and case management systems
  • Handle correspondence and enquiries from officers and partner agencies
  • Receive, log and manage evidential exhibits in line with chain of custody procedures
  • Maintain digital evidence libraries, including CCTV and audio/visual material
  • Produce evidential copies for investigations and court proceedings
  • Carry out audits of exhibits and storage records
  • Manage shared inboxes and calls, ensuring timely responses
  • Prioritise workloads and support team delivery
  • Maintain a clean and organised lab environment
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and FSR Code of Practice

  • Able to work independently and use initiative

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of police or criminal justice systems
  • Experience with case management systems
  • Microsoft Office skills
