ERSOU - ROCU - Police Staff PO5 - Senior Financial Investigation Manager - RECU

The Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) is seeking an exceptional and experienced professional to undertake the role of Senior Financial Investigation Manager (SFIM), leading the strategic and operational delivery of financial investigation and asset recovery across the region.

This is a pivotal leadership position, responsible for driving the effective use of financial investigation powers to disrupt and dismantle serious and organised crime, maximise asset recovery, and ensure a consistent, ethical, and high-performing service across multiple forces and partner agencies.

As SFIM, you will provide professional leadership to a specialist team of financial investigators (Proceeds of Crime Unit), ensuring best practice in financial investigation, confiscation, and enforcement activity. You will work at a senior level with partners including the Crown Prosecution Service and regional policing teams to support complex investigations and deliver tangible criminal justice outcomes.

You will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, demonstrating sound professional judgement and the ability to make complex, high-impact decisions within a dynamic operational environment. This role requires an individual capable of exercising structured, critical thinking, applying specialist expertise to interpret complex information, balance risk, and make timely, proportionate decisions that withstand scrutiny.

What We Are Looking For

Extensive experience in financial investigation and asset recovery, including advanced knowledge of Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) legislation and its operational application.

Strong leadership capability, with a proven ability to manage, develop, and inspire specialist teams in high-pressure environments.

The ability to assimilate highly complex operational information and translate it into clear, evidence-based decision-making.

A professional mindset characterised by independent decision-making, resilience, and accountability, with minimal requirement for supervision while maintaining alignment with organisational priorities.
