Funded by the Home Office, the Policing Adult Sexual Exploitation Programme is a pioneering national initiative established to strengthen policing's ability to disrupt sexual exploitation and VAWG. Following a successful pilot phase, funding has been secured until 31st March 2028, enabling the expansion of the Adult Sex Work (ASW) Referral Hub into an enhanced national capability.
Hosted within ERSOU and operating on behalf of the NPCC Sex Work Portfolio, the ASW Referral Hub acts as a central intelligence and safeguarding resource for policing across England and Wales. The Hub works with police forces, ROCUs, government departments and specialist third-sector organisations to identify vulnerable individuals, develop actionable intelligence and support the disruption of offenders and organised crime networks.
About the Role
As Detective Inspector, you will provide operational leadership and oversight of the ASW Referral Hub, supporting the delivery of national objectives and ensuring intelligence opportunities are translated into meaningful safeguarding and enforcement outcomes.
You will lead intelligence development activity, support staff working within the Hub, manage relationships with policing and partner organisations and contribute to the development of national guidance, policy and best practice. You will also represent Operation PLUTO at regional and national forums and help drive innovation across the policing response to adult sexual exploitation.
