The Role
The CTP unit currently has an exciting opportunity for a permanent Intelligence Researcher working within the Analysis and Research team. You will be responsible for:
- Collecting and collating a diverse range of information in support of tactical and strategic priorities
- Conducting daily scanning to assist in understanding the threat, risk and vulnerability
- Providing findings in a suitable format, whether written, visual or verbal
- Directly assisting the analysts and other intelligence staff to produce high quality products which conform to the Government’s CONTEST Strategy
- Working alongside internal and external partners developing positive working relationships
What we’re looking for:
- Ability to interrogate data from multiple systems
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Positive and flexible approach to working
- Ability to self-motivate
- Good use of common IT software, particularly Microsoft Office packages
Nice to haves:
- A background in intelligence
- Current SC or DV vetting
- Completed Intelligence Researcher IPP
The role is primarily office based, with some agile working

ERSOU – Who are we and what we do
Created in 2010, ERSOU is funded by the seven police forces that make up the eastern region, with Bedfordshire Police being the lead force. ERSOU is the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit, that oversees and delivers a regional level response to Serious and Organised Crime, and Counter Terrorism Policing for the Forces in the Eastern Region.

Eligibility:
This post is designated a ‘reserved post’ under the Civil Service Nationality Rules and is open only to UK Nationals. If you hold dual nationality, one component of which is British, you may also be considered. However, if successful, you may be asked to relinquish your non‐British nationality (and any entitlement you may have to a foreign nationality) as a condition of your confirmation of appointment with CTP. One of your parents should also be British or have substantial ties to the UK. In the latter instance, substantial ties means that your parent is a citizen of a British Overseas Territory, a Commonwealth citizen, US citizen, EEA citizen, British national or citizen overseas, and they would need to have demonstrable connections with the UK by way of family history or have been resident here for a substantial period.
Vetting:
Due to the sensitivities of the role all applicants are asked to maintain discretion about their application. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Enhanced Security Clearance vetting prior to taking up the post, leading to Developed Vetting once in post. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.
