An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Detective Sergeant to join our Counter Terrorism South East Prevent team as a Regional Prevent Supervisor in Thames Valley. This is a unique opportunity to shape safeguarding interventions, influence regional strategy, and lead proactive work that stops radicalisation before it escalates. We welcome applications from PIP2 accredited Detective Sergeants and Detective Constables who have passed their home force promotion board.
As a Regional Prevent Supervisor, you will play a critical role in delivering the Prevent strand of the national CONTEST strategy, working to stop individuals from being drawn into terrorism and supporting those at risk.
You will lead and coordinate activity across the region, working with policing teams, partners, and communities to deliver meaningful, early interventions that reduce risk and safeguard individuals.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following;
- An experienced leader in safeguarding, early intervention, and operational policing
- Strong partnership and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of intelligence processes and risk management
- Confident in case oversight, identifying escalation, and managing demand
- An effective communicator able to influence, collaborate, and build trust across diverse communities
In return you will play a key role in preventing terrorism across the South East
Please note that this role covers the Thames Valley region area and will involve regular travel for business purposes. Travel across the South East region and occasional travel across the UK may also be required. A full UK driving licence is therefore essential.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary for the successful candidate to obtain and maintain vetting level DV together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
