Detective Constable - Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit (PVP)

Looking to take the next step in your policing career or bring your investigative expertise to a new environment? Lincolnshire Police could be your next opportunity.

We’re currently inviting applications from substantive Detective Constables to join our Protecting Vulnerable Persons (PVP) Investigations Unit - a specialist team at the heart of safeguarding and serious crime investigations in our communities. This is your chance to become part of a modern, progressive force that values development, supports progression, and embraces new ways of working.

Our Protecting Vulnerable Persons (PVP) teams are based at Lincoln, Grantham, Skegness, and Boston stations, with current vacancies available in both Grantham and Lincoln.

We're currently welcoming applications from Detective Constable transferees to join our team in 2026, with multiple intakes planned throughout the year, with the first being November 2026.

As a Detective within our PVP Unit, you will play a vital role in delivering PIP2-level investigations into some of the most complex and sensitive areas of policing including serious sexual offences, child abuse, neglect, child sexual exploitation, and offences involving vulnerable adults. Working as part of a dynamic team within our investigation hubs, you'll contribute to preventing harm and protecting those most at risk, while driving cases through the criminal justice process.

To apply, candidates must already hold PIP2 accreditation and be ready to make an impact from day one.

We welcome your experience, your insight, and your commitment to making a difference. Let’s move forward together.

To support a smooth transition into Lincolnshire Police, we are pleased to offer a Transferring Officer Relocation Expenses Package for eligible applicants. This package allows transferees to claim up to £8,000 towards the costs associated with relocating to Lincolnshire.

Eligible expenses may include:

Removal and storage fees

Solicitor’s and estate agent fees related to the sale of your former home (against pre-agreed estimates)

Solicitor’s fees, estate agent fees, and stamp duty costs for acquiring a new property

Initial expenses for arranging rental of a previously owned property

We also welcome applications from those seeking part-time or flexible working arrangements.
