Job Title: Data Reporting Manager

Salary: The starting salary is £48,995, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.

The salary is broken down as £45,986 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £54,863. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Location: Hendon, Sidcup, Westminster

 

Purpose

The Data Reporting Manager will lead the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of data reporting and analytics across the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) Learning & Development (L&D) function. This role ensures accurate, timely, and actionable insights to support strategic decision-making, compliance, and performance improvement. The post-holder will manage a team of reporting specialists and collaborate with stakeholders to embed a data-driven culture within L&D.

Key Result Areas

  • Strategic Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive data reporting strategy aligned with MPS priorities and L&D objectives.
  • Data Governance & Quality: Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with GDPR and internal audit requirements.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Design and deliver complex reports and dashboards from the LMS (Cornerstone OnDemand) and other systems to meet operational and strategic needs.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Identify and mitigate risks related to data quality, reporting accuracy, and system integration.
  • Project Oversight: Lead reporting-related projects, including system enhancements and integration initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of reporting analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Heads of Profession, policy teams, and external bodies (e.g., College of Policing) to ensure reporting meets regulatory and operational standards.

Communications and Working Relationships

Internal:

  • Reports to Performance & Reporting Lead; works closely with Systems, Data & Improvement teams and L&D stakeholders.

External:

  • Liaises with College of Policing and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and best practice.
