About the Role
We are seeking a Data Engineer to support the development, maintenance, and optimisation of the Force’s Microsoft Power BI estate. This role plays a key part in strengthening our data visualisation capability and ensuring reliable, high‑quality business intelligence that supports decision‑making across the Force.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll design and maintain Power BI semantic models, datasets, dashboards, and dataflows to meet organisational reporting needs. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll translate business requirements into effective BI solutions, collaborate with fellow data engineers on technical designs, and ensure all developments align with Force standards, governance, and security requirements. You’ll also contribute to major initiatives, including large‑scale transformation projects such as the D365 ERP programme.
Why This Role Matters
Demand for data and insight across the Force continues to grow, and data visualisation is a strategic priority underpinning organisational development and performance. This role helps bridge the gap between demand and capability, enhances technical expertise within the team, and supports the Force in making informed, evidence‑based decisions.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with experience in Power BI development and a strong interest in expanding their technical skill set. You’ll bring or be keen to develop skills in areas such as JSON, Python, PySpark, and Microsoft Fabric, and enjoy working collaboratively to deliver high‑impact BI solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
