CTP NE IT Technical Officer
Counter Terrorism Policing – North East (CTP NE)

1 Fixed term post for 12 months with possible extension
Full-time 37 hours

An excellent opportunity has arisen to play a key role in a unique team, supporting the work of Counter Terrorism Policing.

As part of a small team, you will provide IT support across all departments within CTP North East. You will develop, install and maintain a wide range of systems including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, servers and printers with a strong focus on their security. You will provide support in line with the ITIL framework to all regional units within the North East and must be able to drive. In addition, you will implement and maintain standards of IT security in accordance with legislation, national guidelines and local and regional policy.

You must have experience of supporting, maintaining and administering Windows 11, Microsoft Server 2016 and above, Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange Server. In addition, you must have a qualification (eg Degree, HNC, HND) in a relevant subject or equivalent experience of working in an IT environment, together with an ability to manage IT services for customers, in order to assist them in carrying out their roles.

Experience in the planning, design, build and delivery of core infrastructure solutions, with a good understanding of how the application of ICT Technology will impact the organisation is also essential, together with a demonstrated ability to build, support, maintain and manage a secure computer infrastructure, adhering to established security protocols.

You must have a willingness and ability to travel for business purposes and be the holder of a full UK Driving Licence. In addition, you must have a willingness to work flexible hours to meet CTP requirements and participate in a call out rota.
