About the Role

We are seeking an Investigation and Specialist Crime Trainer to join our Learning & Development team. In this role, you will design, develop and deliver high-quality investigation and specialist crime training to police officers and staff, helping to build professional capability across the Force. You will ensure all training aligns with Authorised Professional Practice (APP), national standards, legislation and force policies, while promoting the highest standards of professionalism and ethical behaviour.

What You’ll Be Doing

Delivering investigation and specialist crime training programmes, including the Professionalising Investigation Programme (PIP2) for trainee detectives.
Providing specialist training in areas such as rape and other sexual offences, modern slavery, vulnerability, interview skills, Achieving Best Evidence (ABE), disclosure and Risk Management Officer training.
Designing, reviewing and updating learning materials to reflect legislative, procedural and organisational changes.
Assessing and supporting learners to ensure they develop the skills, knowledge and competence required for their roles.
Monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback and addressing performance or behavioural concerns appropriately.
Working closely with subject matter experts, internal stakeholders and external training providers to ensure training remains current, relevant and effective.
Supporting and delivering continuous professional development (CPD) activities to maintain professional standards and operational competence.

A commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining occupational competence.
