The Role & Key ResponsibilitiesFrom your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference.
It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe.
In this role you will be responsible for arranging and coordinating Continued Professional Development (CPD) events/programmes across both Forces.
You will create, design, advise and support in the creation of products such as e-learning, videos/video editing, presentations and other learning reources/materials.
You may be allocated a particular focal point/portfolios as well as working as part of a team to support all CPD.
You will also be reviewing current processes in consultation with the CPD Lead/Manager/Team to make improvements and introduce new approaches where relevant.
You will be need to have or an ability to develop an understanding of different areas of the organisation in order to create and maintain seamless support in CPD related issues.
You will need to be a confident communicator, able to liaise with managers and key stakeholders to produce the appropriate and most relevant products to meet organisational needs.
Your role will involve identifying and collating training material to ensure that they are innovative, fit for purpose and are quality assured, to maintain high standards of delivery and customer satisfaction.
A key part of your role will be to promote the benefits of CPD accross the organisation and support the creation of a culture where CPD is the responsibility of individuals and managers.
Skills & ExperienceA level qualifications or equivalent High grades in GCE ‘O’ Levels/GCSEs English and Mathematics or equivalent.
Excellent level of computer literacy; including advanced Microsoft Office word, excel and powerpoint, Outlook and other packages.
Previous experience of event planning, including producing training materials and liaising with keystakeholders and guest speakers.
Advanced organisational skills, including diary and event management, time management, prioritisation and delegation.
Experience in arranging and managing conferences and large scale training requirements.
A recognised training qualication in Learning and Development, or equivalent, or working towards this qualication or proven and well- evidenced recent experience of designing, delivering and sourcing a diverse range of learning interventions with evaluated outcomes.
Experience of office management.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), including a proven ability to negotiate with and influence others, at all levels of seniority (both internally and externally) to achieve timely outcomes.
Alongside the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and outside the organisation.
Proven experience in both researching and sourcing training providers for a wide range of learning and development products, with a track record in providing effective solutions that deliver enhanced performance and value for money.
Excellent attention to detail. Ability to work independently, handle conflicting priorities and manage multiple projects to tight timescales.
Ability to work as part of a team, including liaising with other partner organisations.
Proven experience in or a good understanding of project management skills.
Proven experience, or a good understanding, of managing contracts and suppliers to ensure a high standard of performance delivery against agreed objectives.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a methodical approach to identifying solutions of a practical or technical nature using critical thinking to evaluate the problem and make appropriate decisions.
The ability to assess, identify and make recommendations for the development of training in the Force.
Excellent data manipulation skills to evaluate the validity of data.
Capable of working well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS There will be a requirement for the post holder at times to be able to travel between Sussex and Surrey in conjunction with their responsibilities.
Normal working hourse are Monday - Frida, plus evening and weekends as required. This is a fixed term contract until July 2027.
