This is an exciting opportunity to join our business support team as a Covert Facilities Officer within CTPSE for a period of 15 months.
The overall purpose of the role is to:
Co-ordinate confidential financial and administrative support to covert functions within the unit and measure financial returns against set standards to ensure the efficient use of budgets. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to identify and make suggestions for improvements. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a unique environment where you will have the opportunity to influence change.
Criteria for the role includes:
- Proven ability to deal with financial practices and budgetary processes, proven experience managing set budget constraints and understanding financial processes and procedures. Experience of managing accounts including cash handling and banking
- Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to promote professional working relationships with personnel at all levels. This skill will have been developed in a demanding office environment where there will have regularly demonstrated discretion, tact and diplomacy, multi-tasking, enthusiasm, initiative, and flexibility both internally and externally
- High level of computer literacy; especially experienced in MS Office Applications (Excel and Word); proven ability to manipulate data from a variety of sources and databases and willing to learn new technology, databases and systems. Proven ability to produce accurate and reliable data especially when assessing and compiling large quantities of data
- Relevant experience requiring administrative, planning and organisation skills. Self motivated with an ability to work towards deadlines, prioritising workloads and using initiative to make decisions. Ability to work to handle diverse information, manage a substantial workload and solve problems with minimum supervision
You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level DV together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad. Please be aware that if successful there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post
