The South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU) is looking for a Continuous Improvement Coordinator keen to progress their career within the Business Team, supporting the wider unit.
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑focused professional to join us in this varied role. You will support key organisational processes including inspections, risk management, strategic planning, business cases and continuous improvement activity. You will contribute to ensuring the force operates efficiently, ethically and in line with best practice.
Your work will directly improve organisational effectiveness, resource use, productivity and service quality. By supporting external scrutiny, strengthening risk management and driving continuous improvement, you will help the force plan effectively, respond proactively to challenges and achieve its strategic objectives.
SWROCU is a collaboration of police officers and police staff from the five South West regional forces. We’re part of a national network of nine ROCUs covering England and Wales.
We have more than 20 capabilities that staff and officers work in to Pursue offenders, Protect and Prepare individuals and organisations, and Prevent people from engaging in serious and organised crime.
Our capabilities are here to advise, to assist, or to fully adopt investigations.
We work with local forces and national partners to target and disrupt criminals posing the greatest risk of Serious and Organised Criminality (SOC). This includes offenders involved in cyber threats, economic crime, drug conspiracies, modern slavery and human trafficking, and child sexual abuse and exploitation.

Skills, experience and qualifications required
Essential:
- Experience of continuous improvement activity including planning, risk management, problem solving, performance monitoring and analysis/projects and programme management and change management.
- Computer literacy skills are essential - particularly experience of management information/diagnostic tools and advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- The postholder must be able to self-manage and self-motivate and consistently deliver to deadlines.
- Experience of collaborating with senior stakeholders and practitioners both internally and externally.
- Excellent communication skills are also essential and the successful postholder will demonstrate experience of effective communication (both written and verbal) dealing with all levels within an organisation.
- It would be advantageous if the postholder holds a current driving licence or is able to travel around the region using alternative transport.
- Experience of working within a criminal justice or wider public sector environment would also be desirable.

Vetting and safeguarding

Police Barred and Advisory lists
