Salary: The starting salary is £48,995, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.

The salary is broken down as £45,986 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £54,863. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Location: The main location for this role is Newlands Park (SE26 5NF) with requirement to travel across the Met Estate, to attend meetings as required by the business.

Employment: Permanent, Full-Time (36-hours p/w)

Digital & Innovation Business Group

The Digital & Innovation Business Group brings together technology, the effective use of data, and our capability to deliver change and reform to drive the Met forward: this is central to progressing delivery of New Met for London 2. It includes the Met’s Transformation, Technology, Data and Analytics functions, as well as work underway to make the organisation more productive and efficient (referred to as Productivity & Efficiency or P&E). The Group was created in early 2026 and is led by Marie Heracleous, Chief Digital & Innovation Officer. Job Purpose

  • The CONNECT SME – PMP is responsible for the ownership, development and continuous improvement of the Proactive Management Plan (PMP) module within CONNECT. Working under the direction of the CONNECT Functional Lead, the role ensures the PMP module reflects real operational policing needs and supports effective decision‑making, evidential integrity and public confidence.
  • This role provides expert subject matter knowledgeof both PMP‑related policing and the CONNECT system, acting as a trusted authority across the Met. While maintaining deep expertise in the PMP module, the role also develops and maintains working knowledge across the wider CONNECT solution to support effective integration and product delivery.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Act as the Product / Subject Matter Expert for the PMP module, owning its direction, configuration and ongoing development in line with user needs and Met objectives.
  • Work with CONNECT, DDaT, suppliers and wider Met stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritise demand and deliver value-led enhancements.
  • Own short-, medium- and long-term product planning, providing visibility of milestones, risks, dependencies and benefits.
  • Lead business cases, change requests and impact assessments, clearly articulating benefits, risks and operational impacts.
  • Create and maintain process designs and documentation aligned to evolving operational policing needs and improved user experience.
  • Support testing, release assurance and defect management, ensuring changes are robust, fit for purpose and operationally safe.
  • Provide technical expertise during incidents and outages, supporting continuity of service and user confidence.

Vetting Clearance

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post.

Working Pattern

Hybrid Working available in line with the Metropolitan Police Service hybrid working policy.

The role requires that you attend the Newlands Park office (SE26 5NF) 3-days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between the core hours of 10:00 to 16:00.
