Are you passionate about assisting individuals through training and development?
We are currently recruiting an individual with training / assessing experience to join our multi skilled team of police officers and police staff, in our Operational Training department, to deliver a range of training.
Our Trainers will be the key to ensuring that police volunteers have the knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
In this role, you will initially provide our police officers and staff with up to date Police and Personal Safety (PPST) and First Aid training, before expanding your training portfolio in one or more specialist areas, so they can remain accredited in their mandatory and specialist skills. It not only increases their abilities and confidence but also enhances performance across the organisation.
What you'll do
As a Roadside Trainer, you'll help new Community SpeedWatch volunteers learn how to carry out roadside speed monitoring safely and confidently.
Your role will include:
- Delivering practical roadside training to new volunteers.
- Demonstrating how to use the speed detection equipment correctly.
- Explaining how to record vehicle details accurately.
- Making sure volunteers understand safety procedures and work within the scheme guidelines.
- Answering questions and building volunteers' confidence.
- Supporting local schemes as they grow and welcoming new volunteers.
What we're looking for
You don't need to be a professional trainer. We're looking for someone who:
- Enjoys helping and encouraging others.
- Is confident speaking to small groups.
- Has good communication skills.
- Pays attention to detail.
- Can represent Community SpeedWatch in a friendly and professional way.
- Is happy to travel occasionally to deliver training.
Training and support
You'll receive full training before carrying out the role and will be supported by the Community SpeedWatch team throughout.

Skills, experience and qualifications required:
Train the trainer session which will be provided and delivered by our Road Safety Enforcement Team
We are hoping to find a volunteer who is able to deliver training out in the community which will last approximately 2 hours.
This is a long term volunteering commitment within your local community.
These fully trained volunteers will make a real positive impact on your local community.

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a 5 year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
