Community Peer Mentor

The Durham Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is committed to delivering the Police, Crime and Justice Plan, working closely with Durham Constabulary and providing assurance to our local communities.

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our Victim Care and Peer Mentor Service team. We are seeking a proactive and dynamic individual to take on the role of Community Peer Mentor Coordinator, supporting people across County Durham and Darlington through the effective deployment of our volunteer Community Peer Mentors.

In this role, you will support the recruitment, retention and development of volunteers. You will be responsible for assessing individual needs and risks, coordinating volunteer deployment, and monitoring progress to ensure people receive the support they need.

While not essential, we particularly welcome applicants with experience supporting individuals affected by poor mental health and/or addiction.

This is a highly varied and rewarding role that requires energy, enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment—one in which you can make a genuine difference to people’s lives.
