About the team/Department you will be joining:
The Citizens in Policing (CiP) team leads and coordinates how members of the public contribute to policing across South Wales. Supporting programmes including Police Youth Volunteers, Police Support Volunteers and Special Constables, the team works closely with internal teams, national partners and local communities to strengthen public engagement, support prevention activity and enhance policing outcomes. The team focuses on ensuring CiP activity is effective, inclusive, well‑governed and aligned with Force priorities and national standards.
About the role and your key responsibilities:

South Wales Police is seeking a positive and motivated Citizens in Policing Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Force’s Citizens in Policing (CiP) portfolio. You will act as the Force lead for CiP, working closely with national coordinators, internal departments, volunteers and external partners to ensure consistent, effective and compliant delivery aligned to Force and national priorities.
This role is currently offered on a 12-month temporary basis and requires flexibility, including occasional attendance at meetings or events outside normal office hours.

- Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Confidence working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to develop and maintain high‑quality systems and procedures
The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to RV Vetting.
