Citizens in Policing Liaison Officer – Special Constabulary – Scarborough and Ryedale
Location: Coast Command - with the opportunity for hybrid working. There will be an expectation to travel to other areas in the force for meetings and training.
Salary: Scale 4/5 - £27,204 - £32,613 Pro-rata £13,236 – £15,872
Contract: Part time 18 Hours Per Week
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Citizens in Policing Liaison Officer to work within Local Policing Support. This post can be agile working.
The post holder will assist and support the Citizens in Policing Co-ordinator Manager to co-ordinate the effective recruitment, retention, training, management, and deployment of Special Constables in line with North Yorkshire and the National Citizens in Policing Strategy.
Reporting to the Citizens in Policing Co-ordinator Manager the post holder’s responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the training and development for the Special Constabulary.
- Administration, management and coordination of Special Constables, utilising police and third-party systems.
- Supporting the implementation and evaluation of programs and initiatives designed to recruit Citizens in Policing.
- To support and deliver the Citizens in Policing Strategy, acting as the single point of contact for Scarborough and Ryedale.
- To support the recruitment and retention of Special Constables and acting as the single point of contact for Scarborough and Ryedale.
- Work with departments and external partners to create further opportunities for the Special Constabulary.
As a successful candidate you should have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills with a working knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practical aspects of Volunteer Schemes and in particular the Special Constabulary. Excellent IT skills are also required with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages are required for this challenging role.
