Lead and shape Derbyshire Constabulary’s Taser training and provide strategic direction to ensure the highest standards of compliance, safety and professionalism.

Join the team and play a key leadership role as Chief Taser Instructor to provide strategic direction and operational oversight to ensure our training remains compliant with College of Policing Authorised Professional Practice (APP), is effective and fit for the challenges of modern policing.

You will provide expert professional advice in relation to capability development, training standards, operational deployment, risk management and future developments in less lethal weapons.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will provide strategic leadership, training strategy and operational management for taser capability.
  • You will lead, supervise and develop taser instructors, support staff and manage performance and professional development.
  • You will design and approve the annual taser training plan and instructor training programmes.

The must haves:

  • You must be a qualified and competent taser lead instructor or achieve the qualification within agreed timescales.
  • You must have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in delivering and managing police training & instructors.
