• Location: Calderdale, Halifax Police Station. West Yorkshire.
The Domestic Abuse Coordinator role is a busy and demanding role at Halifax Police Station.
It involves working closely with partners and victims of domestic abuse, supporting them through the investigation and court process, sign posting them to other agencies and offering them new and innovative technology to safeguard them.
It is important you are able to work alone and to engage with our partners to further support victims.
The role also includes supporting people through the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme, the court process, updating them in relation to investigations, supporting your colleagues, learning and engaging with innovative solutions to support victims of domestic abuse.
You will need to be confident and able to work in a busy fast paced environment and office.
It is a challenging but as equally rewarding job.

• Lead by example and in line with our Code of Ethics
• Provide assistance to victims of domestic abuse
• Assist in the collation of data in order that partners and the police can action and safeguard victims.
• A multi agency lead approach to supporting victims of domestic abuse
The successful candidate will need to be resilient , able to work alone yet liaise daily with partners. Able to deal with the demands and pressures of domestic abuse in what is a challenging role.
Essential to this role is as follows :
• Basic knowledge of, and the ability to operate computerised systems and be able to learn new computer packages relevant to West Yorkshire Police.
• Has previous experience of forming effective partnerships with other agencies
• Has a basic understanding of West Yorkshire force policy in relation to domestic abuse and other related issues
• Has a basic knowledge of what other partners and agencies can offer.
