Camera Enforcement Technician/Analyst

Based at Hyde police station in Tameside, The Central Ticket Office (CTO) is part of the Transport Policing and Crime Command Branch (TPACC).

The Camera Enforcement Technician plays a key role in the detection and prosecution of offenders who fail to comply with the Road Traffic Act with the aim of reducing those killed and seriously injured on the roads of Greater Manchester.

A candidate is sought who is able to take personal responsibility for ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the role and the use of Home Office Type Approved equipment; the Force and Partnership’s strategies; policies and practices; evidential constraints and all other relevant guidance and directions.

Demonstrates the ability to carry out all operational technician duties while effectively coordinating, prioritising, and managing workloads to ensure overall efficiency and quality. Ensures the integrity of all enforcement equipment from deployment through to the provision of robust, court-ready evidence.

Able to liaise with internal and external agencies including Transport for Greater Manchester, Local Authorities, Police Officers, Crown Prosecution Service, Defence Solicitors, members of the public and Courts, giving evidence where required.

The candidate should be highly motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively within a team. They must demonstrate strong time‑management skills and show resilience and composure when facing confrontation or challenging situations.

Having a full driving licence, they should be proficient in navigating by road with the ability to locate sites from maps, map references and written descriptions. Accurate in making observations, collecting information and keeping records with a good attention to detail.

The candidate should be fit to carry out duties such as heavy lifting and carrying equipment and content to work outside for extended periods in all weather conditions.

The candidate should possess good interpersonal skills and able to work closely with staff, managers and all internal and external customers to achieve desired outcomes.
