Business Support Administrator

The Estates & Facilities Department comprises of dedicated police staff within specialist teams who are responsible for the effective management of the estate on behalf of the Police and Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable.

  • This role forms part of the Estates & Facilities team and the post holder will be based at HQ, Welwyn Garden City.
  • The post holder will be expected to work with the finance manager and the helpdesk manager to assist with various finance and admin tasks. There may also be other areas in the dept where admin assistance will be requested.
  • The post holder will be required to travel to various police stations in Hertfordshire and will need access to a vehicle with business use insurance.
  • The post holder will be responsible for an allocated number of stations and will be required to carry out the following duties at their stations:
  • Health and Safety inspection and completion of necessary
  • Regular site visits to monitor housekeeping, including cleaning.
  • Updating Health & Safety information at each site to include noticeboards, emergency evacuation
  • Maintain records for site visits and H&S matters and updating compliance
  • Respond to appropriate requests from E&F
  • Assist with accommodation moves and advise on furniture requests

    Please note that, as part of the vetting process, the BCH Vetting Unit may need to contact your current line manager for a Supervisor Appraisal. This requirement aligns with the 2025 National Guidelines for Vetting (APP 6.5.18).
