Location: Based at Forth Banks, with flexibility to provide cover at our Whickham and Gateshead locations as required.
(There may be a requirement to work at various police sites across the Force area to meet operational needs.)

As a Business Services Administrator, you'll play a vital role in supporting the teams that help keep Northumbria Police operating effectively every day.
Our Business Services Department is at the heart of the organisation, providing essential support services that enable policing across the force. From coordinating maintenance and health and safety activities to supporting frontline policing operations, our team works behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly.

What you’ll do
- Provide administrative and facilities management support, responding to enquiries and building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and information across a range of computer systems, databases and paper-based filing systems.
- Manage incoming correspondence, monitoring shared mailboxes and ensuring enquiries are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
- Support operational policing teams by coordinating resources, ordering equipment and supplies, and assisting with Health & Safety and compliance processes.
- Produce correspondence, reports, meeting notes and action trackers, providing comprehensive support to managers and wider teams.
- Handle a varied workload, working independently and collaboratively to ensure business support services are delivered effectively and efficiently.

What you’ll bring
- Experience in facilities management and operational support.
- You will be able to prioritise and organise your work without supervision.
- Able to consider and solve problems using initiative and decision-making ability.
- Strong Customer Services Skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to communicate at all levels.
- You will have a methodical approach to your work.
Please note that the role involves occasional manual handling tasks, including moving boxes, equipment, and other materials. Appropriate training and support will be provided.

Terms of appointment
This is a fixed term role subject to a six-month probationary period.
If you are successful in your application, you will have a six-month probation period with us where you will be unable to apply for any other post advertised internally or externally.
