Main Purpose of Role
To support the effective delivery of Custody and out of court resolution processes by obtaining, managing and retaining biometric information and completing offender need assessments; ensuring compliance with legislation, Force policy in accordance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE), Authorised Professional Practice (APP).
To support the out of court resolution team with administrative functions.
To contribute to the safe, secure and professional operation of custody services by supporting detainee welfare, maintaining accurate records and providing administrative, operational and support within the custody environment.
Key Skills & Experience Required
We are looking for a motivated and organised individual with experience providing high-quality administrative support and excellent customer service. You will be confident using a range of IT systems to maintain accurate records and information and will be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
You will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with a wide range of people, including those who may be vulnerable or challenging. Using sound judgement and initiative, you will be able to assess information, make valid decisions based on information provided and accurately complete documentation and records to a high standard. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism are essential.
The successful candidate will be able to work well under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines in a demanding environment. You will be proactive in taking responsibility for your workload and committed to continuous learning, including developing an understanding of Custody Powers, Policies, Authorised Professional Practice (APP) and the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE).
