Job Title: Safeguarding Clerical Officer
District: Bradford District
Contract: 1 x full time permanent position
Applications are invited for the role of Safeguarding Clerical Officer based within the Child MASH at Sir Henry Mitchell House, Bradford.
The team of police officers and staff are co-located with Bradford Children & Families Trust, on a Monday to Friday pattern.
As one of the safeguarding clerical officers, the role entails supporting officers with work around referrals for children (PPN's) and strategy discussions with partners to share information and manage risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the MASH mailbox on outlook
- Information sharing to partner agencies
- Completing reports for child protection conferences
- Creating local records and dealing with out of force enquiries
- Provide an administrative, analytical and research support role.
- Maintain and update all relevant computer
systems. - Offer advice, support and assistance to victims, including monitoring bail details in relation to offenders, and
acting upon information received to ensure victims’ needs are met, thus continuing to offer help/support and
assistance.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience and knowledge of Niche / PNC / PND would be useful, but training can be completed once in role for computer systems if required.
- Prepared to work flexible hours to suit the Safeguarding Unit’s requirements.
- Ability to deal with the effects of crime, including dealing with distressed victims and the emotional impact of extremely sensitive issues such as child and adult sexual abuse.
- Ability to work unsupervised and work on own initiative on a regular basis.
