Job Title: ViSOR Helpdesk

Salary: The starting salary is £36,228, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.

The salary is broken down as £33,219 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £ 35,541. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

VISOR (Violent & Sex Offenders Register) is the confidential national database that was developed to support the management of MAPPA and Lifetime Offender Management offenders.  Central VISOR performs a variety of different functions, from overseeing the strategic offender management work streams to managing and maintaining the VISOR system and supplying VISOR helpdesk functionality.

Flexible shift patterns will be considered on a case by case basis.  The role is predominantly Monday to Friday 8 – 4/9-5 however on rare occasions may have to work later.

Key Summary

The Central VISOR Band E Staff member will be;

  • Working with a small team who support the MPS around strategic offender management work streams and specifically maintenance of VISOR as well as providing advice on VISOR “Best Practice” processes.
  • Representing the organisation as a subject matter expert around offender management and specifically VISOR usage and implementation.
  • Representing the MPS at both Regional levels.
  • Completing data cleansing on records across the MET.
  • Required to occasionally provide support to the Central Jigsaw Team.
  • Managing and maintaining “VISOR Helpdesk” function in the MPS.
  • Delivering and supporting effective changes to Met Wide jigsaw teams.
  • Processing and completing urgent requests in relation to FOIA and adhoc matters.
  • Data collection completion for agencies (HMIC/DIT).
  • MAPPS research user assistance team to assist in the successful delivery of a new system to replace VISOR.
