Assistant Accountant

Support public policing through trusted financial management.

We are looking for a motivated and detailed orientated Assistant Accountant to join Leicestershire’s Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) to proactively support the delivery of a first-class financial service ensuring accuracy, transparency and compliance with regulations and standards.

This role is an excellent opportunity to develop financial skills and experience in the public sector while contributing to the effective management of public funds.

You’ll be

  • Supporting the preparation of budgets, forecasts and financial reports.
  • Identifying new funding opportunities and assessing the implications of future funding projections.
  • Assisting year-end accounting processes and audit preparations.

You must have

  • AAT Level 4 qualification or study and achieve this within 2 years of appointment.
  • Previously worked in a complex financial environment with budget management experience.
  • Well-developed analytical skills and ability to respond proactively to financial issues.
