AIU Analyst

Full time vacancy 

We are looking for an AIU Analyst to join the Assessment and Investigation Unit in Berkshire. This is initially for the Crime Portfolio however you will be required to work across all three portfolios to provide resilience at any time. 

The purpose of this role is to provide strategic and tactical analysis, through the creation and development of analytical products to support the ongoing service delivery of the Force wide AIU while identifying trends, risks and opportunities for continuous improvement for AIU. In so doing, improve the quality of service provided to victims, the identification of vulnerability, threat, harm and risk that would otherwise have been missed and maximising opportunities to solve crime. 

The successful candidate will develop and provide expert advice to AIU officers / staff on strategic, tactical and thematic intelligence, strategic or service improvement analysis. As well as this, they will attend internal and external training courses, lectures and conferences, undertake continuous professional development ensuring current knowledge of latest techniques, specialist software, products and intelligence issues including awareness of relevant legislation. Ensure the analysis of communications data complies with RIPA, DPA and ECHR legislation. Contribute to the development and application of analytical techniques embracing the concept of best practice. 

Capability to travel across the Force is required in order to undertake assignments in a timely manner and work flexibly.  Due to unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working public transport may not be suitable.  For this reason, a full driving licence is considered essential for this role.
