About the Opportunity
The Public Protection Unit (PPU) plays a vital role in safeguarding vulnerable children and supporting serious investigations within Staffordshire Police. The Online Child Sexual Abuse (POLIT) team forms a specialist part of this function, focusing on protecting children from harm in the online environment.
There is currently an exciting opportunity to join the POLIT team as an Administration Assistant, supporting police officers and investigators working on complex and sensitive online safeguarding investigations. This role offers a unique chance to contribute directly to child protection work and make a meaningful difference within the community.
You will work as part of a small, dedicated team, providing essential administrative, intelligence, and case‑management support. Your work will include reviewing and triaging incoming referrals, completing system checks, managing communications, assisting with risk assessments, and liaising with partner agencies and other police forces. You will use a range of IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications, to ensure accurate records are maintained and information is shared appropriately.
Due to the nature of the work, the role involves exposure to sensitive and potentially distressing material. You will be fully supported by experienced colleagues and line management, and welfare support is embedded within the team.

You will report to a Detective Inspector and work closely with officers and staff across public protection and partner organisations.
